RoboFont 1.4 is ready for you ... and it is better than ever!
This update includes a number of improvements, bug fixes and new features.

Some highlights:

• Smart Set Binders, aka organizing Smart Sets in "folders"
• Undo for guides, both local as global guides
• Optimized RTL support in Space Center and Kern Center
• Support for boolean operations on glyph objects:

  result = glyph1 | glyph2 (union)
  result = glyph1 % glyph2 (difference)
  result = glyph1 & glyph2 (intersection)
  result = glyph1 ^ glyph2 (xor)

You should get an automatic update when you use RoboFont 1.3.
If you still use RoboFont 1.1 you should redownload the app.

RoboFont 1.3 is out! and has lots of improvements, new features and bug fixes, a brief overview.

• New embedded FDK version.
• Possible to have a mixed selection in the glyph view containing points, segments, contours, anchors, components and an image.
• Possible to use RoboFont as a shell command, see preferences to install the shell command and the usage. Super handy for third party apps that like to hook into RoboFont externally.
• Drag & drop in Font Overview allowing to sort glyph order.
• Open feature files natively and export them to open UFOs.
• Lots of new preference settings:
  • 45° shift contraints settings.
  • New Hot Key commands like Test Install.
  • An other color for open contours starting points.
• Retina support
• Code signed

Read the version history, a complete list of changes, add ons  and new features.

You should get an atomically update when you use RoboFont 1.2.
If you still use RoboFont 1.1 you should redownload the app.

RoboFont 1.2 is out and released today, just in time before Robothon. 

This update includes a number of improvements, bug fixes and new features. The biggest change happened under the hood in the bridge between RoboFont and FDK.

Some new feature highlights:

• Space Centers accepts drag'n drop of glyphs from the Font Overview. 
• Inspecter window glyph info also accepts smart side-bearing input '=e+10'
• Cleaner UI
• Open python files natively 
• Open folders with python files by dragging on top of the app icon.
• New license validation system and web shop.

Today I am proud to announce the release of RoboFont 1.1, which includes several new features and improvements.

Here are some of the highlights of this release:

Smart side-bearings input

The numeric input fields for metrics in the Space Center can now handle simple aritmetic expressions like '=e+10-z*10' or '-=10+a'.

Using this syntax, glyph names are dynamically replaced by their value for that metrics field.

Keyboard navigation in Info sheet

It is now possible to navigate through the Info sheet using the 'tab' key, jumping from one input field to the next.

Improved support for .ttf output

Generation of TrueType files has been improved and now supports components.

Python files are now document-based

Python files in RoboFont now use the native document object for tigther integration with OS X. This means that RoboFont can now be your Python editor of choice.

Support for nested components

Components can now be nested, so it is possible to build composed glyphs using other composed glyphs as components.

Small bug fixes

Version 1.0 had a few minor bugs and rough edges which have been fixed in 1.1. Thanks beta testers and forum members for reporting.

New Documenation

The site has been updated with improved documentation. Massive thanks to Gustavo Ferreira and Ben Kiel for helping me out.

RoboFont is been introduced at ATypi '11 in Reykjavík. This is the start of some really exiting development in designing type. 

RoboFont is released, version 1.0 is the first public version available for ordering.
